The Maison de Ribaupierre
The Maison de Ribaupierre is an architectural marvel, and an integral part of the "Le Cairn" project, welcoming science into it.
This historical building, dating back to 1543, property of the commune of Evolène, was deeded over to the Alpine House Foundation in 2001. The Maison de Ribaupierre stands beside the site of the Centre for glaciology and geology, and is a hub for Foundation's activities. Once it is renovated, it will host:
- Meetings, gatherings and parties
- Scientific activities (seminars, laboratories…)
- Local exhibitions (paintings of Evolène, antique furniture…)
In residence
The building will also house students and doctoral candidates from both Swiss and foreign universities. The Maison de Ribaupierre will host research activities by students about the region and provide an exceptional venue where they can present their findings to others.
