A journey of discovery on 4 levels

The permanent exhibition will occupy four levels:

First level – ground floor

The ground floor will host a reception area and the beginning of the exhibition, showing the geological foundations of the last two billion years.

Second level

On this level the glacial era of the Alps will be presented. This period covers the last two million years.

Third level

The third level deals with the visible landscape and the physical processes affecting the Alps after the most recent glacial era, i.e., during the last 20,000 years.

Fourth level

The theme of this floor is ‘The future of the alpine environment: challenges and global responsibility'. It focuses on the next two hundred years.

Basement

The basement includes conference rooms and work rooms. It will be used when temporary exhibitions are hosted.
