Evolène, a dynamic region
Evolène, the fourth largest commune in Switzerland by size, has much to offer. The ‘Alpine House' will add to its number of existing cultural attractions.
In addition to the permanent exhibition that will be set up in the Centre for glaciology and geology, a variety of events (excursions, conferences…) are already being organized under the auspices of the ‘Alpine House' Foundation. These events add to the list of existing cultural attractions. They will be further developed in the future.
The creation by the Foundation of a scientific and academic network in Evolène will help raise the profile of both the region and Valais as a whole, in Switzerland and in Europe.
Promoting Val d'Hérens
The ‘Alpine House' Foundation already has more projects planned to promote Val d'Hérens. Here are some examples:
- Biosphere project for Hérens–Maya-Mont-Noble, which is also an Interreg project; the ‘Alpine House' will lend its scientific legitimacy to this project with regard to a designation from UNESCO
- the rural-regional development project for Val d'Hérens (DRR)
- a project for cross-boundary collaboration between Val d'Hérens and Valpelline
